IPTV on Android TV
Android TV boxes, Google TV streamers, and televisions running Android. The most flexible option of the four, because Google Play carries the widest choice of players.
Before you start
- A Google account signed in on the device.
- The connection details supplied with your subscription.
Step by step
Setting up on Android TV & Google TV

Open Google Play on the device
From the home screen, select the Play Store. You can also send an app to the device from Google Play in a browser on your computer.

Install the recommended player
Search for the app name in your setup details and install it. It appears in your apps row when it is ready.

Add your subscription
Open the player and choose to add a playlist or portal, depending on what the app calls it, then enter the details we sent.

Set your preferences
Most Android players let you pick a default category, turn the programme guide on and choose how the channel list is sorted. Worth two minutes.

Start watching
Let the guide finish loading the first time. After that it caches and opens much faster.
If something is not right
Try these first
- Playback is smooth but sound is missing on some channels: change the audio output in the player from passthrough to stereo.
- The device slows down over time: clear the player’s cache in Android settings rather than reinstalling it.
